Who we are looking for
All of our nurses are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
We want to recruit committed, enthusiastic nurses, who have good communication and customer service skills. You need to be practically focused, work well as part of a busy team and have the ability to empathise with patients.
What we offer
We offer our nurses a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. Flexible working patterns are available, including full-time or part-time work, job shares, day shifts and night shifts.
As a valued member of our nursing team, we encourage your continuing professional development. We support all our nurses to keep up to date with the latest clinical practice, refresh existing knowledge and broaden their skills. There are opportunities to gain further qualifications.
We run a four-day staff nurse development programme. This is designed to prepare staff nurses for more senior roles. You can also take part in our four-day clinical leadership programme. We can help you to develop the skills that you need to lead hospital wards and become an effective manager.
‘While working at Midland Eye, I have been given many different training and career progression opportunities. I have attended training workshops under Aspen Healthcare’s ‘Investing in You’ learning and development programme, including clinical leadership courses. I have also completed the Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) course for Scrub Practitioners and received specialist training on operating enhanced eye laser systems.’Mary Downs
‘I have worked as the Lead Oncology Nurse at Nova Healthcare in Leeds for just over two years. I am the first person to hold this role.
There are lots of things that I like about my role, but my favourite parts are the service development and networking aspects. I enjoy these aspects in particular because they inevitably lead to a better service for patients.’Ali Clark
