We are always looking for nurses who can make a difference in our award-winning hospitals and clinics.

About the roles

Aspen Healthcare has exciting opportunities for nurses at all stages of their career. At our hospitals and clinics across the UK, we cover most branches of medicine. We have vacancies for many different types of nurses, including:

  • Breast Care Nurses: These nurses have specialised training in treating patients with breast conditions and supporting those with breast cancer.
  • High Dependency Unit Nurses: These nurses treat patients in Parkside Private Hospital’s High Dependency Unit and provide more intensive nursing care than on a general ward.
  • Oncology Nurses: These nurses give cancer patients specialised nursing care and support.
  • Outpatient Nurses: These nurses care for patients who visit the Outpatient Department at our hospitals, but do not stay overnight.
  • Paediatric Nurses: These nurses provide specialised nursing care for children at The Holly and Parkside Private Hospitals.
  • Pre-Assessment Nurses: These nurses carry out various tests to assess our patients’ general health and fitness before they have surgery.
  • Practice Development Nurses: These nurses act as role models for others, support staff with their training and development needs, and help us continually improve patient care.
  • Sisters or Charge Nurses: These nurses oversee a specific department or unit.
  • Staff Nurses and Senior Staff Nurses: These are experienced nurses, who rank just below Sisters or Charge Nurses in the department.
  • Theatre Nurses: These nurses work in Aspen Healthcare’s operating theatres and care for patients before, during and after surgery.
  • Clinical Nurse Specialists in Transgender Health: These nurses support the health and wellbeing of patients using the Gender Identity Service at Parkside Private Hospital.
  • Ward Nurses: These nurses provide care and treatment for patients staying in our hospital wards, and are usually their main point of contact.

Whatever your specific role, you will work as part of a team to plan and deliver the highest quality nursing care. Your will ensure that our patients have the best possible experience and that their safety, privacy and dignity are protected at all times.

Who we are looking for

All of our nurses are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

We want to recruit committed, enthusiastic nurses, who have good communication and customer service skills. You need to be practically focused, work well as part of a busy team and have the ability to empathise with patients.

What we offer

We offer our nurses a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. Flexible working patterns are available, including full-time or part-time work, job shares, day shifts and night shifts.

As a valued member of our nursing team, we encourage your continuing professional development. We support all our nurses to keep up to date with the latest clinical practice, refresh existing knowledge and broaden their skills. There are opportunities to gain further qualifications.

We run a four-day staff nurse development programme. This is designed to prepare staff nurses for more senior roles. You can also take part in our four-day clinical leadership programme. We can help you to develop the skills that you need to lead hospital wards and become an effective manager.

‘I have been given many opportunities to enhance my practice and continually develop my skills and expertise. I became the Deputy Radiation Protection Supervisor in 2010 and the Deputy Imaging Manager in 2011. I completed the ‘Interpretation of orbital radiographs prior to MRI scans’ course in 2014 and became a STEP-Up to Safety Ambassador for the clinic in 2016. STEP-Up to Safety is Aspen Healthcare’s award-winning patient safety programme.’

Allison Bullivant

‘I have worked as the Lead Oncology Nurse at Nova Healthcare in Leeds for just over two years. I am the first person to hold this role.

There are lots of things that I like about my role, but my favourite parts are the service development and networking aspects. I enjoy these aspects in particular because they inevitably lead to a better service for patients.’
