At Aspen Healthcare, we employ many different healthcare professionals and staff to provide diagnostic, technical, therapeutic and pharmaceutical support. They are important members of our multi-disciplinary team.
Here are some of the roles in our healthcare team:
Biomedical scientists: We carry out a wide range of pathology tests and investigations on blood and other biological specimens. If you join us as a biomedical scientist, you will interpret complex diagnostic laboratory results and develop your skills in an expert team.
UKAS, the national accreditation body for the UK, has given quality accreditation to the pathology laboratories at The Holly and Parkside Private Hospitals. We use the latest technology and deliver a comprehensive laboratory service.
Diagnostic imaging roles: We offer a full range of diagnostic imaging services. These include X-rays, fluoroscopy procedures, CT, MRI and ultrasound scans, nuclear medicine, mammography, DEXA osteoporosis scans and antenatal screening. Our hospitals and clinics have invested heavily in state-of-the-art imaging equipment. Having the latest technology is vital for quick, accurate diagnosis and the best outcomes.
The work of our radiologists, radiographers and clinical imaging assistants is often crucial in making an early diagnosis and improving treatment prospects. We follow the guidelines produced by The Royal College of Radiologists and The College of Radiographers.
Dietitians: We run a dietitian service at Cancer Centre London and Highgate, The Holly and Parkside Private Hospitals. There are weekly outpatient clinics and patients can see a dietitian as part of their integrated care for other conditions, such as diabetes.
Our dietitians are registered with the Health Care and Professions Council and the British Dietetic Association. As a dietitian, you will play a key role in improving our patients’ fitness, energy and wellbeing. You will also support patients to manage long-term conditions and make positive diet and lifestyle choices.
Healthcare assistants: Our healthcare assistants provide vital support for nursing staff and patients throughout the hospital wards and departments. You will work under the guidance of a qualified nurse and carry out a wide range of duties to assist with patient care. For example, you may wash, dress or feed patients and monitor their condition.
As a healthcare assistant, it is important to put patients at ease and make their stay as comfortable as possible. You may also help to maintain a safe, clean environment and assist with the administrative running of the ward or clinic.
Pharmacists: Aspen Healthcare provides various pharmacy services, including inpatient dispensing, private outpatient prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines and medication. Pharmacy services are available at Claremont, Highgate, The Holly and Parkside Private Hospitals. Our oncology pharmacists are closely involved in all aspects of cancer drug treatment at Cancer Centre London.
All our pharmacists are registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You will check prescriptions for accuracy, reconcile inpatient drugs charts on the ward, prepare discharge medications and place pharmaceutical orders. Most importantly, you will ensure that medicines are used safely and advise both patients and other healthcare professionals.
Physiotherapists: We offer physiotherapy services at Cancer Centre London, The Edinburgh Clinic and Claremont, Highgate, The Holly and Parkside Private Hospitals.
There are modern physiotherapy facilities across our sites, including rehabilitation gyms, Pilates studios and a large hydrotherapy pool. All our physiotherapists are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. We also employ physiotherapy assistants. You will support patients to recover from surgery and manage the physical problems caused by illness, accident or ageing. This involves working closely with other healthcare specialists.
Our physiotherapists provide acupuncture, exercise therapy, massage, manipulation and many other treatments. We also offer the latest techniques, such as run 3D gait analysis at The Holly Private Hospital. This uses advanced motion analysis technology to assess, treat and prevent injuries.
